WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Engineering Team Lead – Data Engineering & Analytics, you lead the evolution of our Data & Insights domain across B2B and B2C in the automotive aftermarket.

Your mission is to lead and develop a team of Data Engineers and Analytics specialists, bring together two Data environments with different starting points and establish a shared technical direction that enables valuable Data Products and better decisions across Product, Business and Operations.

You combine people leadership, technical leadership and data architecture. Rather than becoming the main technical problem solver yourself, you create the direction, structures and capabilities that enable your team to take strong end-to-end ownership and turn Data into measurable customer and business value.

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of up to 10 Data Engineering & Analytics specialists, creating clear ownership, strong collaboration and a high-performance culture across today's B2B and B2C setup.
  • Bring B2B and B2C Data capabilities together under a shared direction, building a common team identity while addressing different architectures, legacy and modernization needs.
  • Define and evolve the target Data architecture, challenge existing approaches and establish standards that improve simplicity, scalability, maintainability and cost efficiency.
  • Connect Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Products to ensure reliable technical foundations translate into relevant insights and measurable value for our automotive aftermarket business.
  • Lead the AI transformation within the teams, using your own hands-on experience to inspire engineers, build confidence and establish new ways of working.
  • Drive AI-first data engineering and analytics development by introducing proven AI-assisted workflows across the engineering lifecycle, improving productivity, quality and delivery speed.
  • Develop Engineers towards broader technical and end-to-end ownership, distributing knowledge and solution responsibility across the team.
  • Work closely with Product, Business and Enterprise Architecture to translate customer and business needs into sustainable Data capabilities and products.
  • Use meaningful engineering and business KPIs to continuously improve technical performance, team effectiveness and business impact.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Senior-level expertise in Data Engineering and Data Architecture, with experience designing and evolving complex Data platforms end-to-end – from ingestion and transformation through data modelling to serving Analytics and Data Products.
  • Strong people leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams with different skill profiles, build ownership and drive change. You stay close to the technology and contribute hands-on where valuable, while prioritizing leadership and technical direction over individual implementation.
  • Proven hands-on experience with AI-first data engineering and analytics development, including concrete examples of projects, repositories or engineering workflows you have implemented or significantly improved.
  • Strong understanding of how Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Products work together to solve customer and business problems and create measurable value.
  • Experience evolving and modernizing complex Data landscapes, including legacy environments, while balancing business continuity and long-term technical direction.
  • Strong practical experience with modern cloud Data platforms; experience with Snowflake and dbt is particularly valuable, while Azure Data Factory / Synapse, Power BI, Terraform and CI/CD experience is a plus.
  • Clear communication and strong stakeholder management across Engineering, Analytics, Product, Business and Enterprise Architecture.

Language requirements:

  • English: Fluent – our working language in Engineering and cross-team collaboration.
  • German: A plus, but not required.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • A key leadership role shaping the future of Data Engineering & Analytics across B2B and B2C
